Former Secretary to Rivers State Government, Alabo Tammy Wenike Danagogo, has promised Governor Siminalayi Fubara that he is strongly behind him.
Danagogo gave the assurance on Thursday during the 2026 New Year banquet at the government house in Port Harcourt.
He commended the governor for defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, aligning with the Federal Government would bring progress to the state and the nation.
He described Fubara as a peacemaker and unifier who also pursues peace no matter the opposition.
He said, “We may not tell you individually, but we are all behind you. In this effort to align with the centre, creating synergy with the ruling party and the Federal Government, we are with you.
“It will certainly bring progress to Nigeria and Rivers State. You are a peacemaker and unifier. Believe that no matter the power you have, God is on the throne and He is in charge.
“We are all behind Governor Sim Fubara in his efforts to align Rivers State with the centre”.
Meanwhile, Fubara has urged his supporters to remain calm amidst the fresh political developments in the state.
Speaking on Thursday during the New Year banquet held at the government house in Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara said it is Dogs that don’t understand what is going on in the house that bark.
According to him, he is sure things would work out in his favour, and the journey would be smooth.
The Governor assured his supporters that everything is in place to ensure he wins the election for a second term.
He said, “Don’t be disturbed by what is happening. Caesar in one of his quotes said, the only reason the dog barks is when it doesn’t understand.
“If you have a dog in your house and it knows you, does it need to bark? So when the dog starts backing maybe it is seeing something it doesn’t understand.
“We are not barking because we understand. We know where we are going and we have set all the things that are needed to make the journey smooth”.
Naijaonpoint reports that the recent statement comes amidst fresh tensions between Fubara and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Wike had recently submitted that the leadership mistake in Rivers State would be corrected in the 2027 election.
