“Deliver Bayelsa for Tinubu in 2027” – APC Chairman Yilwatda to Gov Diri

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda has appealed to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri to ensure he delivers the state to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

Yilwatda while speaking during a grand ceremony to welcome Diri to the ruling party in Yenogoa on Monday, said it is important for the APC to have a good percentage of voters in 2027.

The ceremony was attended by key members of the the APC including the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, governors and too leaders of the party.

In his address, Yilwatda urged the governor to ensure that he sweeps the PDP out of the state completely.

He said, “As a symbol of our authority, sweep out PDP and then ensure that the votes are swept in.

“In 2027, sweep all the votes into APC, We must have a good percentage of the votes in Bayelsa,” Yilwatda said.

Handing over a broom – the APC’s insignia – to the governor, Yilwatda added, “Take this as a symbol of strength, symbol of unity, unir or party, make it stronger and bring all the votes.

“Finally, we hand this over to you, as your ownership of the APC, you’re fully decorated as the king of APC in Bayelsa state. Go in strength and to deliver Bayelsa for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” the APC National Chairman noted.

Recall that Diri had on October 15, announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor said he dumped the PDP after extensive consultations with political leaders in Bayelsa state. He also stated that he was leaving the PDP with his numerous supporters and key members of the party in the state.
