Democracy Day: Fresh details emerge as Tinubu cancels national broadcast

Tinubu 7

The previously scheduled nationwide broadcast by President Bola Tinubu in celebration of the June 12 Democracy Day anniversary has been cancelled.

The cancellation of the nationwide broadcast was announced by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Imohiosen said the broadcast was cancelled due to a scheduled attendance at the joint National Assembly by the president on Thursday, June 12.

The president is expected at the National Assembly complex by 12 noon on June 12, 2025.

He, however, said that the president will now address Nigerians on the 26th Democracy Day directly from the National Assembly chambers during his meeting with the lawmakers.

“Due to President Bola Tinubu’s scheduled attendance at the National Assembly Joint Session, the Presidential National Broadcast on June 12 has been cancelled.

“President Tinubu will deliver his address from the National Assembly,” Imohiosen said.
