Washington made this known in a chat with Australia Today during the press tour for the upcoming epic historical-action movie Gladiator 2. He also hinted on his plans to retire from acting. “I played Othello at 22. I am about to play Othello again at 70. After that, I am playing Hannibal. After that, I’ll be speaking to Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther. After that, I’m going to do King Lear. After that, I’ll retire.”
