The member representing the Ukwa West State constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Godwin Adiele, has refuted claims made in a recent blog publication concerning his attendance at the 2nd anniversary celebration of Governor Alex Otti’s administration held at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
Describing the report as misleading and deliberately distorted, Hon. Adiele clarified that the invitation to the event was extended to all members of the House, regardless of party affiliation.
He affirmed his participation in the ceremony as a proud member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and reiterated his commitment to encouraging a constructive relationship between the legislative and executive arms of government for the benefit of the Abia people.
“I attended the event in my capacity as a legislator and a proud PDP member. My presence should not be misinterpreted,” he stated.
“As a representative of Ukwa West, I remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote the development of our state, irrespective of political lines.”
Hon. Adiele also urged his supporters and constituents to disregard the blog post, which he described as a “figment of the blogger’s imagination”, stressing that he remains transparent and open about his political affiliations and decisions.
“I am too politically experienced not to communicate any political shift to my people and party if such were ever the case,” he added.
