The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has said that President Bola Tinubu is actively tackling the numerous security challenges confronting the country.
Ladoja made the remarks on Friday after a meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He explained that the visit to Aso Rock was to express his appreciation to Tinubu for his support, noting that since his coronation as the Olubadan of Ibadan in September 2025, he had been seeking an opportunity to meet the President in Abuja.
Commenting on Tinubu’s style of governance, the monarch recalled that the President had a proven record of turning around the economic fortunes of Lagos State during his tenure as governor.
Describing Nigeria as a complex country, the former governor of Oyo State, however, expressed confidence that Tinubu would replicate his achievements in Lagos at the national level.
Ladoja said Nigeria would be in a better position before Tinubu leaves office in 2031, insisting that the President understands the task before him.
He stressed that while Nigeria’s current challenges are significant, the country is far more complex than a single state.
“The states have more money than we had when we were governors. They are able to meet their commitments better than we could back then. The economy is being fixed, and we hope that by 2031, when he leaves office, he will have put Nigeria in a position that all of us will be proud of,” he said.
