The presidency on Monday, confirmed the meeting between President Bola Tinubu and the newly-appointed service chiefs.
According to a statement from the presidency, the discussions focused on national security priorities and strategic defence coordination.
As earlier reported by Naijaonpoint, President Tinubu met with the new service chiefs at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
The statement from the presidency confirmed that the meeting was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Aneke; and Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye.
Monday’s meeting represents the President’s first official engagement with the new military chiefs who came into office following the dismissal of the previous service chiefs.
The statement read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday received the newly nominated Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
“Those in attendance included the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Aneke; and Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye.
“The meeting marked the president’s first official engagement with the new military leadership team, as discussions focused on national security priorities and strategic defence coordination.”
