Attorneys for Sean “Diddy” Combs have formally filed a notice to appeal the disgraced music mogul’s sentence.

In July, Diddy was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution involving his two ex-girlfriends, Cassandra Ventura and “Jane”.

He was sentenced to  50 months (four years and two months) in prison and a $500,000 fine. He was given 14 months served, as he has been in jail since last September, awaiting his trial and subsequent sentencing.

His legal team has filed a two-page notice of appeal, challenging the conviction and the prison sentence.

In court, Diddy claimed he had been “humbled to my core,” and issued an apology to his victims.

“In my life, I have made many mistakes, but I am no longer running from them,” he wrote to Judge Arun Subramanian. “I am so sorry for the hurt that I caused, but I understand that the mere words “I’m sorry” will never be good enough as these words alone cannot erase the pain from the past.”

“A substantial sentence must be given to send a message to abusers and victims alike that exploitation and violence against women is met with real accountability,” Judge Subramanian said before handing down his ruling.
