Sean “Diddy” Combs received some good news after prosecutors moved to drop some of the charges against him ahead of the closing arguments for his trial.

“The Government understands the Court’s desire for streamlined instructions,” prosecutors wrote in the letter, which was addressed to the judge. “With that in mind, the Government has suggested ways to streamline those instructions … The Government is no longer planning to proceed on these theories of liability so instructions are no longer necessary.”

Diddy will still face the more serious charges, sex trafficking and racketeering, while his kidnapping, arson, and some of the sex trafficking charges should be dropped.

Diddy has denied all of the charges against him.

During the trial, prosecutors called 34 witnesses, including Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, Kid Cudi, and several escorts who participated in Diddy’s infamous freak-offs.

Prosecutors alleged Diddy ran a “multi-faceted business empire” as a “criminal enterprise,” in which he and his associates engaged in kidnapping, arson, physical violence, sex trafficking, and forced labor, among other alleged crimes.
