Diddy’s Attorneys Ask For Him To Be Sentenced To ‘Time Served’

Attorneys for Sean “Diddy” Combs are asking that the disgraced music mogul be sentenced to 14 months in prison for his prostitution charges.

If the judge agrees, it means that Diddy will be able to head straight home after he is sentenced next month.

“Mr. Combs must be sentenced for what the jury convicted him of—interstate transportation of fully consenting adults with intent to engage in prostitution. But it would be unlawful, and a perversion of justice, for the Court to sentence him as if the jury had convicted him of sex trafficking and RICO, or to increase his sentence based on the Court’s own findings about force or coercion or racketeering,” his attorneys wrote.

Diddy’s lawyers say that the punishment does not fit the crime.

“In the past two years, Mr. Combs’s career and reputation have been destroyed. He has served over a year in one of the most notorious jails in America — yet has made the most of that punishment,” his lawyers continued. “It is time for Mr. Combs to go home to his family, so he can continue his treatment and try to make the most of the next chapter of his extraordinary life … It is the only just and fair sentence that could be imposed.”

Diddy was convicted of two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution under the Mann Act, but he was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

He is due to be sentenced on October 3.
