Sean “Diddy” Combs has secured another legal win after a judge dismissed another civil case against him, citing the expiration of the statute of limitations..
The lawsuit, brought in February by an anonymous plaintiff, accused Combs of drugging and sexually assaulting him inside a nightclub more than five years ago. The man, described in court filings as a 23-year-old aspiring artist, alleged he had been booked to perform at the club when Combs attended.
According to the complaint obtained by TMZ and filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, the plaintiff said Combs gave him a drink that caused him to lose consciousness. When he woke up, he claimed Combs was engaging in “unwanted sexual contact” and warned him that his music career would suffer if he resisted.
On Wednesday, the judge ruled the claim fell outside the statute of limitations, noting that New York law allows five years to bring such a case. A 2019 law extending that window to 20 years does not apply retroactively.
Diddy remains behind bars awaiting his October 3 sentencing after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, a violation of the Mann Act.
