DJ Akademiks found himself at the center of fresh controversy after a tense livestream confrontation with streamer SummyahMarie, sparked by her rumored relationships with rappers NoCap and Trippie Redd.
During the exchange, Akademiks accused Summyah and her circle of participating in what he called “escort culture,” questioning whether her recent trip to Turks and Caicos with Trippie Redd suggested more than friendship.
He pressed her, asking whether she was acting as an escort for the Ohio rapper. Summyah rejected the claim outright, saying multiple women were invited on the trip and that Trippie specifically asked her along to stream content.

Akademiks remained unconvinced, arguing that even if there was no sexual relationship, accepting trips and luxury still fit his definition of escort culture.
Summyah pushed back hard, calling the accusation disrespectful and false. She denied having any relationship with Trippie Redd and said Akademiks was fixated on a narrative that ignored her side. “You’re always chasing drama instead of being positive,” she told him during the call.
As tensions escalated, Akademiks claimed the men she associates with do not respect her, while Summyah insisted she is not “hopping from rapper to rapper.”
