DJ Akademiks is going at Ebro Darden again after social media accused the former Hot 97 radioexecutive of throwing shade at Charlamagne tha God instead of giving credit where it is due.
In a viral clip circulating online, the speaker dismissed Ebro’s past comments about industry layoffs and success. Ebro recently accused Charlamagne of selling out after The Breakfast Club host announced a mega $200 million deal with iHeart Media.
“They still coping that them getting fired is a good thing,” Ak said. “No, dummy. You would have left if it was that good.”
Ak praised Charlamagne’s work ethic and business success, arguing that his massive deals are earned, not handed out.
“Charlamagne is the hardest working man in the game,” he went on “He got five jobs, selling books, doing everything. He works harder than you.”
He also pushed back on suggestions that Charlamagne compromised his integrity to succeed.
“Don’t put it in the air like he doing something strange for money,” he added. “He’s more talented and he outworks everybody. […] The cream gonna rise to the top,” he said. “You either applaud it or you hate on it.”
“On his worst day,” Ak said, taking another shot at Ebro, “Charlamagne is still more entertaining than you two combined.”
