DJ Vlad and Kid Cudi are trading jabs onlineafter Vlad sided with Jim Jones in a debate over who helped launch Cudi’s career.
The tension began when Jim Jones claimed his remix of “Day n Nite” introduced Cudi to the public. Cudi quickly pushed back on Instagram, saying Jones’ version of events was untrue. “You talking about how you were responsible for my success is a lie,” Cudi said. “You need to stop lying to people.”
Vlad then entered the conversation on X, backing Capo’s claim. “Nobody knew who Cudi was until Jim Jones did the Day & Night remix,” he wrote, adding that the record became massive in New York after Jones jumped on it.

When fans shared Vlad’s post with Cudi, the rapper brushed it off with humor. “Hahaha ain’t nobody tryna hear what this bum has to say,” he wrote.
Vlad fired back the next day with a more personal response, writing, “Cokehead Cudi talking s–t about me?” and referencing Cudi’s past struggles with substance use. He also alleged that Cudi cooperated with authorities in a recent case involving Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Obviously, the Kid Cudi original version will dominate YouTube views over 18 years – especially since this is Kid Cudi’s first hit song and he went on to have a big career. But at the time it came out, the song was still underground, and Jim’s version gave it a huge boost.…
