“Don’t let family be the reason you’re drowning in silence” – Peter Okoye preaches in shady post as he shares his 20-years ordeal with his family

Nigerian singer and the second half of the famous music group Peter Okoye has thrown a subtle shade at his family as he sends a message to the general public.

In an Instagram story, he stated that one shouldn’t allow family to be the reason they’re drowning in silence. He noted how he did for over 20 years, and it cost me everything. Peter noted how love doesn’t manipulate, loyalty doesn’t betray, and family doesn’t steal from you.

The award-winning singer stated that a family that steals and breaks you isn’t family at all. He avowed that real family doesn’t drain you, shame you, discriminate against you, or ignore your pain.

Peter added that his sanity matters and his mental health is a priority. He further added that if it costs his mental health, then it’s too expensive.

“Don’t let family be the reason you’re drowning in silence. I did – for over 20 years plus. And it almost cost me everything. But now I know better – love doesn’t manipulate, loyalty doesn’t betray, and family doesn’t steal from you.

Recall that in 2023, Psquare had fallen out again because of the joint funds being diverted by their elder brother, Jude Okoye.

In an interview, Paul recounted how Peter got him and their older brother, Jude Okoye, arrested by EFCC in December 2023. Luckily for him, after a thorough investigation conducted by the commission, he was declared innocent of all the allegations levelled against him.

Peter, however, denied Paul’s claims of arresting him. He noted how Paul, rather than joining forces with him to reclaim their number one spot in the music industry, chose to team up with their elder brother, Jude, to marginalise and humiliate him.
