The Department of State Services (DSS) has interrogated former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, over the recent attack on his convoy in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.
Naijaonpoint recalls that Malami’s convoy was attacked by suspected political thugs on September 1, 2025, shortly after he returned from a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Imam of Dr Bello Haliru Jumu’ah Mosque.
The incident heightened political tension in the state, with supporters trading blame over the assault.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Malami confirmed he had honoured the DSS invitation and was fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
“I can confirm that I have been invited by the Department of State Services, DSS, to support investigation over the attack on my person and convoy in Kebbi State on the 1st of September, 2025,” he wrote.
Naijaonpoint reports that the former minister alleged that opposition political figures in Kebbi instigated the petition, which led to his interrogation.
However, he praised the DSS for the way it handled the questioning.
“I was treated with dignity and respect, and I remain committed to cooperating fully with the Department to ensure that their investigation is concluded successfully,” he added.
