DStv, GOtv Price Hike 2025 – Are You Dumping Your Decorder?

In a recent announcement, MultiChoice has confirmed that subscription fees for its popular DStv and GOtv packages will increase beginning March 1, 2025. The company communicated this development to its customers through an official statement titled “Price Adjustments for DStv and GOtv Packages.”

“Dear Customer, please note that effective 1 March 2025, there will be a price adjustment on all DStv packages,” the notice read. “This change ensures we can continue delivering top-quality local and international content through cutting-edge technology.”

This adjustment comes nearly a year after MultiChoice’s last price review, marking another significant shift in its pricing structure.

Revised Pricing for DStv and GOtv

DStv subscribers will face notable increases across various packages:

• DStv Compact will rise from N15,700 to N19,000.
• DStv Compact Plus will jump to N30,000.
• DStv Premium will now cost N44,500.

GOtv users are not exempt from the changes:

• GOtv Jolli moves from N3,600 to N3,900.
• GOtv Plus will cost N5,800, up from N4,850.
• GOtv Max increases to N8,500.
• GOtv Supa will be priced at N11,400.
• GOtv Supa Plus now comes in at N16,800.

Reasons Behind the Price Increase

MultiChoice attributes the adjustments to Nigeria’s challenging economic climate. Rising operational costs, driven by the naira’s continued depreciation and soaring inflation rates, have strained the company’s ability to maintain its services without revising subscription fees.

The company emphasized that the new rates are necessary to sustain the delivery of premium content and to cope with escalating business expenses in the country.

While the price hike may strain household budgets, MultiChoice reassures customers of its commitment to providing quality entertainment and maintaining its standards despite economic headwinds.
