Ebro Darden is shedding new light on a heated exchange he says took place behind the scenes after Hot 97 pulled the plug on his longtime morning show.
Speaking on the debut episode of his newly rebranded YouTube series, The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, the radio veteran revealed alleged direct messages from Drake.
One reportedly message reads, “Die slower p—y,” followed by another warning, “We got some s–t for u.”
Darden said he was unfazed and replied, “Relax. You’re salty about losing to Kendrick. You’re not mad at me… Love bro.”

Earlier in the show, Darden contrasted those messages with older DMs from around 2020, which he said were friendly and supportive at the time. The private exchange came after Drake publicly reacted to the news by dropping an axe emoji in the comments of an Instagram repost announcing the end of Ebro in the Morning.
That emoji sparked a response from co-host Peter Rosenberg, who wrote on X, “It’s behavior like this that has made it impossible for people to defend the wack s–t that he does,” before adding a pointed holiday sign-off.
Darden later weighed in himself, posting that Drake was “right wing” and referencing streamer Akademiks.
