Ebro Darden is weighing in on Charlamagne Tha God’s blockbuster new deal and making it clear he would not have made the same choices.

During a recent episode of his podcast, Darden discussed Charlamagne’s reported $200 million agreement with iHeartRadio, which will keep him behind the mic on The Breakfast Club while also expanding his Black Effect Podcast Network and bringing the show to Netflix.

“There were things that Charlamagne was willing to do that I would’ve never done,” Darden said. “Never. And that’s how you get to those big bags.” He added that while the deal comes with “so much positive,” he personally refuses to “propagate white supremacy,” which he suggested has been rewarded financially in the media.

Darden compared Charlamagne’s trajectory to that of Stephen A. Smith, saying, “When Disney wants to give you money like that, you gotta do a dance I ain’t willing to do.”

He also referenced Charlamagne’s early criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris before later supporting her campaign.

He further alluded to Charlamagne allegedly selling out to get the deal. “I’m not saying people shouldn’t celebrate,” he said. “It’s good. It’s just something I wasn’t willing to do.”
“To get to the big bags,” he said, “you got to do certain dances.”
