Edo deputy governor Shuaibu congratulates APC’s Okpebholo, calls for unity

Philip Shuaibu, the deputy governor of Edo State who was recently reinstated after a long battle with Governor Godwin Obaseki has congratulated Monday Okpebholo, the state’s governor-elect.

Shuaibu in a statement issued by his chief press secretary congratulated Okpebholo on his victory in the just concluded governorship election in Edo.

In the statement, Shuaibu urged the governor-elect to remain magnanimous in his victory and ensure he carries his opponents along in his plan for a greater Edo State.

Calling for an end to all politics of bitterness and acrimony, Shuaibu said the announcement of the result should bring everyone together.

He also urged the other contestants in the election to set all political differences aside and work with the new government for a better Edo.

His words, “We have all fought a very good fight on the political turf, and in the process, may have offended one another.

“Now that the election is over, we must unite and support the winner for a better and more prosperous Edo State,“ Shuaibu said.
