A former Anambra State governor and Labour Minister, Dr. Chris Ngige, has reportedly been arrested in Abuja.
The former governor was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
This was confirmed in a statement on Wednesday night and signed by his former media aide, Fred Chukwulobe.
He dismissed rumours that the former Minister, who served in the Muhammadu Buhari administration, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
He said, “Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past minister of labour and employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, is with the EFCC. More details later.”
Recall that Ngige was recently in the news after his convoy was attacked by armed men in Anambra State. He was not present in the vehicle at the time of the attack
