The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the arrest warrant issued against Ezekiel Thankgod, manager of gospel musician Mercy Chinwo
This follows an appeal by the manager’s legal representative, who pleaded with the court, stating that his client was unaware of the summons and assured his voluntary appearance in court.
Justice Alexander Owoeye issued a bench warrant against the music producer last week following an ex parte order filed by the EFCC.
The EFCC agreed to withdraw the warrant on the condition that the manager honours future court appearances.
Ezekiel was accused of diverting $345,000 meant for the singer.
The case has been adjourned to February 14, 2025, for arraignment.
