The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike on Friday joined leaders across the country to celebrate with Muslims on this year’s Eid-el-Maulud.
Wike, in a message to Muslim faithfuls within the FCT urged residents to ensure that they embrace peace, unity and compassion in line with the teachings of the Prophet.
Describing the Eid-el-Maulud as an opportunity for all to strengthen the bond within their families and communities at large, the Minister commended residents of the FCT for their cooperation with his administration.
He described the FCT as a land blessed with a vibrant community that represents Nigeria’s cultural diversity.
Assuring residents of his administration’s committment to improving the lives of the people, Wike urged residents to reciprocate the governments efforts.
“I urge you all to meet your obligations to government and society. Contribute to the growth and progress of our beloved FCT by obeying traffic rules, paying your taxes, and engaging in civic activities.
“May this Eid-el-Maulud bring you and your families peace, prosperity, and happiness. Let us strive to emulate the virtues of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him),” Wike added.
