Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, alongside former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, and Ogun State counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun, are the first set of visitors to arrive in Daura for the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari died on Sunday in a clinic in London where he was being treated for an undisclosed illness.

Naijaonpoint learnt that the residence of the late Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, has begun witnessing an influx of politicians and leaders ahead of the burial.

The Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently in London on the orders of President Bola Tinubu to bring Buhari’s remains back to Nigeria.

Meanwhile, former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, has revealed that he and Buhari received treatment in the same London hospital.

However, while he was discharged, Buhari unfortunately passed away on Sunday, 13th July.

Upon hearing of Buhari’s demise, Abubakar disclosed that he went to console his family and see how arrangements could be put in place for his remains to be brought back to Nigeria.

The former military leader who handed over power to civilians in 1999, commended Buhari as an upright individual who gave his best to his country.

Speaking on Monday during an interview with Channels Television, Naijaonpoint reports that Abubakar described Buhari’s death as a big blow to Nigeria.

He said, “Unfortunately, we were in the same hospital together, but I have been discharged. So when I hear the news of his passing away, I quickly went there to console wth the family and see what can be done in order to get the corpse ready to be taken home.”

Asked to speak about the man Buhari and their relationship, Abubakar stated that the former Nigerian leader can be trusted with anything with no fear of betrayal.
