The senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ireti Kingibe, has submitted that Nasir El-Rufai has a better record in office than Nyesom Wike as FCT Minister.
According to her, Wike is constructing infrastructural projects that have no direct impact or bearing on FCT residents.
Senator Kingibe, who spoke on Tuesday during an interview session with Channels Television, stated that, in contrast, El-Rufai was in touch with people’s needs during his tenure and responded appropriately to their needs in his capacity as the FCT Minister.
Naijaonpoint reports that the lawmaker submitted that Wike should not be praised for his infrastructural projects, as the projects don’t put food on people’s tables.
She said, “If you ask any FCT person who has been the minister who has performed the most in the FCT, they will tell you El-Rufai. Why? El-Rufai built roads, he also responded to the needs of the people.”
“El-Rufai was also the sort of minister when the people have a major problem, he did not take the senator to common people like me to say, Oh, the place you have moved the abattoir to, there’s no infrastructure.
“They cannot go there. There’s no security, there’s no water, there’s no this. So being a successful minister isn’t just about infrastructure.”
