Elon Musk opened up about his love life in Kanye West’s upcoming documentary In Whose Name?
In a clip obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, the Tesla CEO reflects on his relationship with musician Grimes with the rapper in Miami after a concert.
After congratulating West on his “amazing production,” Musk followed him into a stark, circular room that Ye described as “an idea of a bedroom,” withoff-white walls and a single cushion on the floor.
Once the two were lying down on the makeshift bed, Musk pivoted the conversation to Ye’s personal life.
“So are you and Kim like off and on or something? Or, I don’t know, it’s hard to tell,” Musk asked with a laugh, referring to Ye’s marriage to Kim Kardashian. Musk then turned the conversation on himself, sharing that his relationship with Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, has been a little up and down.
Musk and Grimes were first linked in 2018. They share three children together: X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus.
“Claire and I, Grimes,” Musk said. “We’re sort of … you know, in the same text stream, she’s like, ‘I love you.’ And then, like, you know, a day later, like, ‘I hate you.””
Ye asked, “And what do you do?”
“I’m like, ‘Whoa, OK. … Yeah, exactly,” Musk replied.
The two sat in silence for a moment before Ye smiled and said, “I don’t have answers. Answers to everything except for that.”
