In a sea of ongoing games, it can be tough to play multiple games, or bet on a winner when fully-funded projects are closing down left and right. Embark Studios managed to rise above the noise and cement ARC Raiders as a bonafide success.

Of course, all eyes are on Embark now that the game has hit the ground running, so a lot of fans have been wondering what’s next. Thankfully, they’ve given us a look at the North Line update, and the upcoming Stella Montis map.

The North Line Update Is Coming

It’ll Feature The Stella Montis Map

According to Embark Studios, the North Line update for ARC Raiders will launch at 10:30AM CET (4AM ET) on Thursday, November 13. More specifically, the Breaking New Ground community event will kick off, allowing players to participate in an activity that will eventually “restore tunnels to Stella Montis,” while unlocking rewards in the process. The major content update involves adding the Stella Montis region to the game, located north of the Rust Belt. It’s categorized by its “cold and pristine” aesthetic, “filled with the remnants of humanity’s lost ambitions.”

Interestingly, there’s a twist to when Stella Montis will unlock: “As players contribute resources to the effort, they’ll earn Merits — a new event currency that fuels the next phase of the community event. The release timing of Stella Montis will be set by community progress, revealing the next frontier and triggering the ‘Staking Our Claim’ Phase II, a new progression track with rewards to earn and challenges to complete. This new track will be available for a limited time, running until December.”

It’s a substantial update, and it’s all in service of setting up the next big content rollout in December called “Cold Snap.” Based on this cadence, ARC Raiders shows no signs of stopping its momentum. Given that the Matriarch “makes the Queen look friendly by comparison,” there’s a lot of hype behind this content drop.

It’s Still Doing Well Post-Launch

Embark Studios reminds us that they have recently surpassed the 700,000 concurrent player mark, a sign of a surefire launch hit, as they reached a groundswell of support shortly after launch and have capitalized on it since. There are no signs of that momentum slowing down this year.

As for what’s ahead for ARC Raiders, we only have a tease of December’s Cold Snap update, but it also sounds like a doozy: “Introducing the Flickering Flames event, new snowfall Map Condition, and the awaited Expedition Project Raider reset.”
