Umunna, speaking on Friday after the airline’s official reception at the airport, stated that the arrival of Enugu Air is set to create positive economic ripple effects for Enugu State and the entire Southeast region, stimulating growth in trade, tourism, and business activities. He emphasized that one of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)’s objectives is to strengthen partnerships that will help position Enugu as a key aviation hub. Having previously contributed to the establishment of Cally Air while serving as the Calabar Airport Manager, Umunna highlighted that AIIA has made significant strides to meet international standards and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) regulatory requirements. This includes infrastructure upgrades, improved ground handling services, enhanced security measures, and compliance with international safety protocols. Furthermore, coordination among stakeholders has been streamlined to ensure smooth operations for the airline.
