The People of Obeagu Town in Awgu Local Government area of Enugu state have petitioned the GOC 82 Division and Chief of Army Staff over the alleged invasion of the community by some military men.
In a statement after its Easter meeting on Saturday signed by the traditional ruler of the community, HRH Sylvester Emeka-Okolo, and Ogbuefi Calistus Ojiogbu, President General, military men invaded the community on Monday, 25th, March 2024, harassing men and women leaving them with various degrees pf injuries.
The community while condemning the inhumane act, called on the Enugu state government and military to investigate the matter and bring to book those involved.
The leaders of the community, noted that the people of Obeagu are peace loving and law abiding citizens that should not be treated like outlaws by security personnel.
The statement also followed video evidence of the incident.
