Senator Kelvin Chukwu, representing Enugu East in the Senate, has dumped the Labour Party (LP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The senator disclosed this on Wednesday during a town hall meeting at the village market square to brief his constituents on some of his achievements in the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.
He told his constituents that the decision to quit the LP was informed by the crisis rocking the party., which he said has seriously affected its members of the party.
He further that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was equally currently swimming in a deep mess, noting that moving to the PDP was not an option.
Chukwu declared that he would formally declare for his new party at the floor of the Senate during plenary when the lawmakers resume.
The senator expressed appreciation to the people for his support since assuming office at the National Assembly, and promised not to let them down.
