Enugu State Polling Booth Vanguard Commends Awgu Council Chairman, Hon Pedro Nwankwo.

Enugu State Polling Booth Vanguard, a grassroot mobilization organisation, commends Hon Pedro Nwankwo, the Executive Chairman of Awgu LGA on some of his achievements and the commissioning of some completed projects in the LGA.

The organisation headed across the State by great leaders such as Hon Dubem Onyia, Grp Capt Joe Orji, Dr Chukwuweike, Igwe Okeke Arum, Dr Mrs Odi, Lolo Queen Nwankwo among others, noticed that Awgu Council Chairman, Hon Pedro Nwankwo has been able to bring development closer to the grassroot by his laudable achievements in security, housing and infrastructural development.

It was noted that Awgu Council Chairman, in partnership with the private sector, embarked towards the development of Awgu Smart City Estate.

Through the partnership the areas around Awgu INEC Office have been cleared and the Estate development project advancing progressively.

The area was notorious as a hideout for criminals and hoodlums that had terrorised Awgu, causing insecurity and destruction of properties, including kidnappings and burning of INEC Office in the past.

However, with the ongoing development of Awgu Smart City in the area, the place is now clear of criminals. The Estate project have engaged many youths positively, created jobs and business opportunities, and geared towards meeting the housing needs of the people.

Patrol vehicles and motorcycles were also provided by the Council to ensure safety of lifes and properties in Awgu. These has brought peace and socio-economic development to Awgu.

In the same vain, we facilitate with the good people and government of Awgu LGA on the commissioning of Gov Peter Mbah Lodge at Awgu, ICT Centre and Administrative Block, Awgu Traditional Rulers Conference Building, several roads, bridges and other Infrastructures completed by the administration of Hon Pedro Nwankwo.

These projects are indicative of a leader who understands the wishes of the grassroot and is desirous of meeting the people’s need. We also appreciates the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr Peter Mbah for providing the enabling environment and the opportunities for development in the State.

His agenda and goal of bring development to our people through the Smart School Initiative, Primary Health Centres and Insurance Scheme among other projects are quite commendable. It is hoped that more supports, hands and resources will be channelled towards the development of our grassroots by every Onye Enugu.
