Israel’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, has disclosed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is willing to support Nigeria in addressing the killing of Christians through intelligence cooperation.

Freeman made this known during an interview on Monday.

According to him, Israel is prepared to work with Nigerian authorities, particularly in the area of intelligence sharing, to help tackle insecurity and protect Christian communities in the country.

“We will be guided by the Nigerian government on where and how we can partner to address insecurity as a whole within the country,” Freeman said.

He noted that while discussions on intelligence would remain confidential, Netanyahu had already made Israel’s position clear on the issue.

“Any communication behind the scenes will remain behind the scenes. When it comes to intelligence and information, it is not something that can be discussed publicly because doing so would defeat the purpose,” he added.

Freeman further explained that Netanyahu’s comments were not limited to Nigeria alone but focused on the safety of Christians globally.

“He spoke about Christians across the world, not just Christians in Nigeria. He also pointed out that Israel is the only country in the Middle East where the Christian population is increasing, and that was the point he was making,” Freeman said.
