Europa: Ademola Lookman fires Atalanta to historical final

Super Eagles and Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman scored a goal and provided an assist as the Italian side reached the final of this season’s UEFA Europa League following a 3-0 win against Marseille.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side won the semi-final contest 3-1 on aggregate.

Lookman scored a goal and bagged an assist for La Dea in the encounter.

It was the first time Atalanta would make it to the final of any European competition in their history.

The winger gave the hosts the lead inside 30th minute, before setting up Matteo Ruggeri for the second goal in the 52nd minute.

Lookman was replaced by El Bilal Toure 13 minutes from time.

Toure scored the third goal deep into stoppage time to cement a final spot for the Italian side.

The Nigerian  has now scored 12 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions for Atalanta this season.
