Rogue One: A Star Wars Story writer and Andor creator Tony Gilroy is working on a new movie for Searchlight Pictures called Behemoth! and is recruiting a brilliant cast. The only thing we know about the story is that it follows a cellist, while Pedro Pascal and David Harbour were previously confirmed as leads. But now, one of the year’s most promising breakout stars has also signed on.

Deadline confirms that Eva Victor, the writer, director, and star of Sorry, Baby, is also now a part of Behemoth’s cast. Sorry, Baby is the highest-rated A24 movie of 2025 and is Victor’s feature directorial debut. There are currently no details available about Victor’s character in Behemoth, which is being written and directed by Gilroy and is scheduled to begin principal photography later this month.

Despite its quiet release and absence from awards season discussions, Sorry, Baby achieved near-universal acclaim. Also starring Naomi Ackie, the understated film follows Agnes’ (Victor) life after a traumatic event, thoughtfully exploring this concept. Victor also wrote and directed the comedy series Eva vs. Anxiety and has done some below-the-radar movie and TV roles.

Rachel Labonte summarized ScreenRant‘s review for Sorry, Baby by saying: “I can’t wait to see what Eva Victor does next after this breathtaking debut dramedy about healing and friendship. We seemingly now have proof that the industry recognizes Victor’s potential, as they have been launched to starring alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood in a movie from an immensely acclaimed writer-director.

Tony Gilroy’s best movies include Michael Clayton and The Bourne Identity, but in recent years, he has gotten more attention for his contributions to the Star Wars franchise. Gilroy is coming off the Emmy-winning series Andor, which is regarded as the best Star Wars TV show, making Gilroy’s new movie a highly anticipated project.

Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal is arguably the most sought-after star in Hollywood at this point, having just wrapped up a summer that saw the back-to-back releases of Materialists, Eddington, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. David Harbour is also an MCU star and is headed into the final season of Stranger Things. Alongside Victor, Behemoth has an impressive line-up of high-profile talent.

Tony Gilroy is also producing Behemoth alongside his brother John Gilroy (editor for Andor) and Sanne Wohlenberg, while Rayne Roberts and Cameron Chidsey are overseeing the production on behalf of Searchlight Pictures. With two names attached to it that carry the intrigue of everyone wanting to see what they do next, the movie will hopefully hit theaters sometime next year.
