“Even in death you still showed up” – Late Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi celebrates him on Father’s Day

Despite being dead the wife of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, Omowunmi is celebrating him on Father’s Day.

Taking to her Instagram story to share a photo of him and their son, she stated that despite being dead, he is still showing up for them. Wunmi said she feels it all the time and urged him to keep watching over their son, Liam.

“Happy Father’s Day to the greatest father that ever lived. Even in death, you still showed up. I feel it all the time, keep watching over Liam”.

At the Headies award ceremony, Wunmi had given a speech as the the late singer won the Best Street Music (Street Hop Artiste) of the Year award and the Viewer’s Choice for his song, ‘Egwu,’ with Chike. Wunmi said she doesn’t refer to him as her late husband because he lives forever, especially through their son, Liam. The mother of one expressed gratitude to the organisers of the awards for honouring her husband’s memory and legacy, as she made it known that it means a lot to them.

Refreshing your memory, Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label, tragically passed away at 27 under unclear circumstances on September 12, 2023.

In February, Mohbad’s wife had opened up about her struggles since the death of the singer the TV host. She revealed that she often questioned God for taking the life of her husband. She spoke about her father-in-law and how he has been fighting her about her husband’s property and also spoke about the threats she has been receiving from Naira Marley and others.
