The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industry, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, has called on Nigerians to return to farming and produce food in large quantities as a way to reduce the hunger currently affecting the country.
Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District in Osun State, made the remarks while speaking with journalists in Ilase-Ijesa, Osun State, on Tuesday.
The lawmaker commended President Bola Tinubu for heeding advice on strategies to alleviate poverty and predicted that Nigerians would experience relief from hunger before the end of the year.
“I am farming. Everybody should farm. If there is no hunger, automatically, we will be thinking right. The development is coming. What I have seen in the National Assemblies is real, and so on.
“Automatically, before the end of this year, things will go down. Just recently, when we went for the NEC meeting, President Tinubu advised the governors to go deep into the local areas and invest more.
