Nigerian lawyer cum Human Rights Activist, Deji Adeyanju, has accused former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, of trying to rewrite history.
Naijaonpoint reports that Adejanju made this known while reacting to Boss Mustapha’s claim that former President, Muhammadu Buhari’s 12 million votes helped him win in the 2015 election.
He spoke at the unveiling of Garba Shehu’s book “According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesperson’s Experience,” the former SGF said Buhari already had 12 million votes and that the merger of the legacy parties merely contributed three million votes.
Mustapha, who admitted that the Congress For Progressive Change (CPC) controlled only one state while the All Progressives Congress (APC) was being formed, maintained that the votes that delivered victory for APC came from the CPC and followers of Buhari
Mustapha insisted that President Bola Tinubu was not instrumental to Buhari’s then victory.
Rubbishing his claim, in a post via 𝕏 on Thursday, Adeyanju described Buhari as a serial loser like former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
Adeyanju said Buhari would not have defeated former President, Goodluck Jonathan, without the help of the coalition, which included President Tinubu.
He wrote, “The statement of Boss Mustapha yesterday that Buhari won 2015 election all by himself because he brought in 12 million votes is beyond delusional, it is an attempt to re-write history.
“The coalition won the 2015 election and not Buhari. Buhari was a serial loser like Atiku before the coalition happened.
“Almost everyone ganged up against GEJ to help Buhari win the election; from the PDP governors that defected to join the then coalition and PDP governors who didn’t leave the party to Tinubu, Atiku, Amaechi, Barack Obama, the naive citizens who believed Buhari and APC were going to change Nigeria, etc.”
