Nigerian striker Akor Adams has maintained a strong front despite his recent injury which ruled him out of the entire season at Sevilla, Soccernet.ng reports.

Adams has endured a difficult start to life in Seville since his €5.5 million transfer from French Ligue 1 club Montpellier in January. The Nigerian striker was expected to make a big impact at the club, as they even let Kelechi Iheanacho leave on loan.

Unfortunately for Adams and Sevilla, the transfer has not worked as well as they would have expected. The Super Eagles star has just four appearances for Los Nervionenses this season due to injuries.

He suffered a hamstring injury in February, and that kept him out of action for five weeks, missing five games in the process. His return was supposed to give Sevilla a boost going into the last eight games of the season.

However, Adams suffered another setback earlier this week as it was confirmed that he had suffered a muscle injury which will keep him sidelined until the end of the campaign.

But despite his injury struggles, Adams still has a strong mentality. The 25-year-old striker shared a bible passage on social media to show this.

“Even when bad things happen to the good and godly ones, the Lord will save them and not let them be defeated by what they face. Psalms 34:19 TPT.”

Akor Adams has to bounce back well

Sevilla would be frustrated at how the Akor Adams transfer has turned out. The Nigerian striker has not been involved in any goal and that is due to his lack of game time of course.

Now that Adams has been ruled out of the season, he will have enough time to strategize going into next season. The former Montpelier star has to prove his worth once he returns from injury. If not, he could be sold or loaned out to another club to make space for another striker.
