ATALANTA head coach Ivan Juric says he and Ademola Lookman have settled their differences after they were involved in a public spat last week.
Juric and Lookman clashed during Atalanta’s 1-0 victory over Marseille in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.
The Super Eagles forward was substituted off in the 75th minute, and as he passed Juric he said something.
The coach was apparently not happy with whatever Lookman said and he grabbed the Nigeria international by the arm and shoved him as an argument ensued.
“Everything has been resolved, we talked a lot after Marseille,” Juric told Italian media.
“He’s a peculiar guy, but we’ve resolved it. These incidents, like what happened with Carnesecchi, help the team to be more united than before.
“The team has always given me great satisfaction. They are hungry and have a great desire to make a difference.”
Despite the resolution, Atalanta’s Serie A form did not improve over the weekend, as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Sassuolo yesterday with Lookman starting and featuring for 78 minutes.
The result left Juric under more pressure, with speculation growing that he could be sacked as Atalanta slipped to 13th in the table with 13 points from 11 matches.
It is not the first time wantaway Lookman would clash with an Atalanta manager, after he was publicly scapegoated by Juric’s predecessor Gian Piero Gasperini for missing a penalty.
