It appears only a matter of time before Ademola Lookman gets his wish of leaving Atalanta for Inter Milan
Christian Vieri has tipped Ademola Lookman to become an instant hit at Inter Milan even as the Super Eagles forward remains locked in a transfer warfare with Atalanta.
Former Juventus and Monaco striker Vieri also boldly predicted that the Nigerian star will bag 18 goals for Inter Milan should he complete a summer switch from Atalanta.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport as per FC Inter News during the final leg of the Bobo Summer Cup Padel Tour 2025 in Lignano Sabbiadoro, the former Italy international was bullish in his forecast.
What Vieri said about Lookman
“Lookman – Inter is a deal that will happen,” Vieri said. “And Ademola will score 18 goals.”
Vieri also offered predictions for other expected moves, adding:
“Vlahovic-Milan will happen and he’ll score 19 goals, one more than Lookman. Simeone-Torino will also happen and he’ll score 16 goals. And Morata will go to Como and score 14 goals and 13 assists.”

A target for Arsenal, Lookman, 28, has flourished since arriving at Atalanta in 2022. After stuttering spells in the Premier League and Bundesliga, he hit double figures for Serie A goals in each of his three seasons in Bergamo – 13 in his first, 11 in his second, and 15 in his third.
The former Fulham man was named Atalanta’s Player of the Season in back-to-back campaigns and played a starring role in their Europa League triumph, netting a memorable hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.

However, his time in Bergamo appears to be drawing to a close. Lookman has now missed training for three consecutive days as he pushes for a move to Inter Milan, as per Napoli Magazine.
Atalanta have rejected multiple bids from Inter Milan for Lookman, forcing the former Everton and RB Leipzig forward to hand in a transfer request last weekend.

While personal terms between Lookman and Inter have already been agreed, negotiations between the San Siro giant and Atalanta remain deadlocked. Inter’s latest €45m bid has again been swiftly rejected by Atalanta, who are proving difficult to negotiate with.
Lookman, under contract until 2027, has reportedly decided to continue his training boycott in the hope that it will force Atalanta’s hand.
