Ex-Kaduna PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate Defects To ADC

John Marcus Ayuba

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suffered yet another setback in Kaduna State as its 2023 deputy governorship candidate, John Ayuba, has defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Naijaonpoint reports that Ayuba, a former Commissioner of Finance in Kaduna State, made the announcement in a formal resignation letter addressed to the PDP chairman of Unguwan Gaiya Ward in the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.

In the letter, Ayuba expressed disappointment over the state of affairs at the national level of the PDP, citing mismanagement and lack of direction.

He wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I write to convey my difficult decision to resign my membership of our erstwhile great party.

“I have, over the years, watched with great concern the mismanagement of the future of our party at the national level by those who, I fear to say, do not mean well for its future.

“These events culminated in brazen acts of anti-party activities against our presidential candidate in the 2023 general election by highly placed party members.”

The former PDP deputy governorship candidate stated that the party leadership failed to sanction those who undermined its chances during the last general election, leaving loyal members demoralised.

Ayuba explained that he had consulted extensively with his political associates and supporters before deciding to join the ADC.

“Remaining in the PDP is no longer an option for me,” he stated.

Despite his grievances, Ayuba expressed gratitude to the PDP for providing him a platform to contest in the 2023 elections, saying it was time to move on
