Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has named his compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi, as his best friend in football, Soccernet.ng reports.

The duo first crossed paths in Nigeria’s youth setup before reuniting at Leicester City, where their friendship blossomed both on and off the pitch.

Together, they achieved significant milestones at the club level, including winning the FA Cup with Leicester City, while also featuring side by side for the Nigerian national team.

Iheanacho reveals best friend in football

In a video shared on Middlesbrough’s social media page, Iheanacho reveals he has many best friends in football, but he has spent the most time with Ndidi.

“Best friend in football? There are a lot of best friends in football. But, obviously, I have spent a lot of time with Wilfred Ndidi,” Iheanacho said.

Speaking further, the Leicester City midfielder revealed that their connection is beyond football, having developed a brotherly bond that has remained strong over the years.

“The relationship between me and Kel is very great,” Ndidi once said. “It’s amazing because people just thought we were teammates, playing for Leicester and playing for the national team. But I’ve known Kelechi since we were in the academy, very young, so it’s not just new. We’ve been very close since we were in [Nigeria] Under-17s together. It’s been amazing having him around. I’m enjoying every moment.”

Iheanacho and Ndidi’s share musical moments

Beyond football, Iheanacho and Ndidi have entertained fans with their musical chemistry. A resurfaced video showed the pair in a car, passionately singing and rapping along to an Afrobeats track.

Their energy and enthusiasm delighted the Nigerian football community, which further affirms the friendship they share off the pitch.

Odumodublvck wants to feature the Super Eagles duo

Their love for music has not gone unnoticed, as Nigerian Afrobeat star Odumodublvck has previously expressed interest in collaborating with both players on a song.

This would not be the first time footballers have explored music, with Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi previously sharing clips of himself recording in a studio.
