“I write to inform you of my resignation with immediate effect as a member of the PDP. It’s obvious that the PDP is being controlled by politicians of the national ruling party,” Galaudu wrote.

Galaudu, who was the PDP’s governorship candidate in the 2019 general elections in Kebbi, explained that his exit was due to developments in the party, which he claimed, threatened its survival.

According to him, “My resignation has become necessary in view of the happenings in the party and its seeming consequence of obliteration.”

Although he did not disclose his next political move, Galaudu is regarded as a potent political force in Kebbi State.

A former banker, he also served as a board member of Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, and remains an influential figure in Kebbi politics.
