Ex-PDP Rep Apologizes to Oyetola For Not Supporting Him Against Adeleke In 2022

A member of the House of Representatives, Wole Oke, has declared that the All Progressives Congress will win the 2026 governorship election in Osun State “cleanly and clearly.”

Oke who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC also assured President Bola Tinubu of a sweeping victory in the state in the 2027 general elections.

This is as the lawmaker who represents Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, gave the assurance while speaking with Punch.

“Mr President should go to bed. Osun State is already in his kitty come 2026. By 2027, we are confident of delivering one million votes for PBAT,” he assured.

Oke apologised to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola, for opposing his re-election in 2022.

“We have tried two wives now, and we now know which one is better,” he said, symbolically describing the return to the APC as a correction of past political misjudgements.

He noted that despite the PDP’s victory in the 2022 gubernatorial election, the margin was too slim to be celebrated.

“PDP narrowly won the 2022 election with just 28,000 votes. In 2026, we will atone for our mistake with over 45,000 votes in favour of the APC,” he declared.

Oke lamented the current state of governance in Osun, saying, “We are worse off looking back with hindsight.”

He argued that Oyetola, despite facing challenges like COVID-19 and limited revenue, managed state affairs prudently without borrowing a dime during his tenure.

The lawmaker claimed that the total revenue and budget handled by the Oyetola administration over four years was less than what the current government has received in just two years, especially following the removal of fuel subsidy.
