Ex-Speaker Obasa snubs Lagos Assembly plenary for second time since removal

Former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, skipped plenary on Thursday, February 6, for the second time since his removal on January 13.

Obasa’s continued absence from the legislative house has raised speculation about his next political moves.

The former Speaker had insisted that his removal was illegal and vowed to resist his political opponents in the house.

Meanwhile, during the session on Thursday, the lawmakers commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies, stating that they are producing positive results.

During the plenary session yesterday, Abiodun Tobun (Epe 1) moved a motion to send a commendation letter to President Tinubu.

The legislators also praised First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her support of the president’s policies.

Tobun cited key economic improvements, including increased GDP, a stronger naira, and the resolution of fuel scarcity, as proof of the administration’s success.

Speaker Mojisola Meranda directed the acting clerk to draft the commendation letter to acknowledge the impact of Tinubu’s governance.
