The Super Eagles’ provisional squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in September will be released today, Friday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria will lock horns with Rwanda and South Africa next month in two make or mar fixtures in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers series.

Coach Eric Chelle is under pressure to win back the Nigerian fans after his dismal showing with the CHAN Eagles at the African Nations Championship.

So, he has to win both games to still have a good standing with the Nigerian fans and ensure that his job with the Nigeria Football Federation is safe.

Ahead of the crucial fixtures, Soccernet.ng can exclusively confirm that the provisional squad that will prosecute both games against Rwanda and South Africa will be announced today.

Who Will Make The Super Eagles’ Provisional Squad?

In an earlier report by Soccernet.ng, it was revealed that Nigerian teen sensation Ebenezer Harcourt, who made his senior debut with the CHAN Eagles, will be called-up for the games in September.

Eric Chelle is also exprcted to hand a call-up to Sevilla star Akor Adams, who grabbed an assist for Sevilla in their LaLiga opener last week.

Benjamin Frederick, Chidozie Awaziem, and Terem Moffi are also expected to be part of the provisional squad.

The usual suspects like captain William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Wilfred Ndidi, Stanley Nwabali, Ola Aina, will also make the team.

The last time the NFF released a provisional list, it was 39 players. This time, it is expected to be around that number.
