Former Super Eagles star Anthony Ujah has tipped rising Flying Eagles star Israel Ayuma for stardom, Soccernet.ng exclusively reports.

The teenage sensation, who currently plies his trade at NK Istra in Croatia, has been likened to a young John Obi Mikel for his composure and tactical intelligence.

Ujah, who had 113 professional goals, praised the 20-year-old’s mentality and development. He went on to predict a bright future for the NK Istra midfielder if he remains consistent.

“The things he’s doing at his age show that the sky is the limit. If he stays cool-headed and focused — which he already is — and remains healthy, I see him going really far,” Ujah told Soccernet.ng.

The veteran striker, who previously played for Union Berlin and Mainz 05, credited Mavlon Academy for shaping Ayuma’s professionalism and discipline.

“Discipline is one of the core values at Mavlon Academy, and he’s had the best lessons in that area. The next step is establishing himself at Istra and then moving to a bigger league. But first things first — he has to take it one step at a time,” he added.

Ayuma, who featured for Nigeria at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, has continued to attract attention for his composure in midfield, passing range, and ability to control the tempo of play.

Seen by many as a potential successor to John Obi Mikel, the youngster has often spoken highly of Alex Iwobi and Paul Pogba as players whose styles influence his game.

Following his performance for the Flying Eagles in Chile, Ayuma’s move from Warri to Europe looks to be only the beginning of a promising journey.
