Now, to round out the Galaxy S25 series, here’s your first look at the Galaxy S25 Plus!

Contrary to earlier reports, the Galaxy S25 Plus is set to be announced with the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to these renders from Onleaks (which are based on CADs), the Galaxy S25 Plus will follow the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. That includes flat sides and the camera rings, which is a pretty polarizing decision by Samsung.

Because these are based on CADs, you’ll notice that there are some things missing, like a SIM card slot. That doesn’t 100% confirm that Samsung is eliminating it; that’s just not typically shown in a CAD.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus will be thinner, same size battery

Just this morning, it was reported that the Galaxy S25 Plus will sport a 4,900mAh capacity battery once again. This means battery life will likely be the same as the Galaxy S24 Plus unless the processor and display are far more efficient.

Internally, we are expecting that the Galaxy S25 Plus will sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which will be announced at Snapdragon Summit next month in Maui. However, we have also heard rumors that the non-Ultra models could get Exynos 2500 in some markets – that won’t be the US, thankfully. That should be paired with 12GB of RAM and potentially 256GB of base storage this year.

The Galaxy S25 Plus is also rumored to be sticking with a 6.7-inch (technically it’s 6.65-inch but will likely be rounded up for marketing purposes) display once again, which will be LTPO and able to change its refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz adaptively. The dimensions are also roughly 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.3mm, which is marginally different in width and height compared to the Galaxy S24 Plus, but it is about 0.4mm thinner.

As for when the Galaxy S25 Plus and the rest of the Galaxy S25 family are set to be released, we’re expecting it to happen around mid-January. We don’t anticipate it being announced before January 10, which is the end of CES. Samsung will want to hold its own event outside of CES and get as much attention as possible. So we could see it happening the week of January 13, which would be similar to last year’s announcement date of the Galaxy S24 series – January 17, 2024. They would then be released about a week or two later.
