The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ATOM Training Services, a renowned aviation training institute based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The deal is part of efforts to enhance the skills and capacity of FAAN’s workforce.
The MoU was signed on July 22, 2025, in Dubai by Dr. Luqman Emiola Olatunbosun, FAAN’s Director of Human Resources and Administration, and Abdulla Almemari, General and Accountable Manager of ATOM Training Services.
In a statement signed by Mrs. Obiageli Orah, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, FAAN described the partnership as a major milestone under the six-point agenda of its Managing Director/CEO, Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku.
The collaboration aims to strengthen the capacity of FAAN personnel, especially in safety-critical airport operations. ATOM is recognised for delivering ICAO-compliant training in areas such as air traffic management, emergency response, safety oversight, and regulatory compliance.
During the trip, the FAAN delegation toured ATOM’s training facility and held strategic discussions with the management team, which concluded with the official signing of the agreement.
The partnership reflects FAAN’s commitment to aligning its training standards with global best practices. It is expected to significantly boost operational efficiency and compliance across Nigeria’s airports.
Mrs. Kuku, in her inaugural address, stressed the importance of human resource development, saying, “Every institution is only as powerful as the human resources managing it.”
Since taking office in December 2023, Mrs. Kuku has overseen the training and certification of over 3,000 staff members, reaffirming her administration’s focus on capacity building, staff development, and operational excellence.
