The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Plateau State Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop and expand the Yakubu Gowon Airport into a major hub for agricultural produce and cargo operations.

Announcing the development on its official social media platforms on Wednesday, FAAN described the partnership as a visionary step toward unlocking economic growth in Plateau State and enhancing Nigeria’s agricultural export capacity.

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Mr. Caleb Mutfwang, commended the initiative, noting its potential to boost the state’s internally generated revenue and firmly position Plateau as a key player in the agro-export value chain.

The collaboration is expected to significantly enhance Nigeria’s air cargo infrastructure and promote agricultural development, in line with the federal government’s drive to diversify the economy.
